Paul Scully
Paul Scully is Managing Director of Decision Horizons, a consulting enterprise through which he offers his services based on 30 years of experience in financial services and investment management. Paul is an actuary by training, was chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific region of ING Investment Management and a member of its global board. He has held in addition executive positions in life insurance and retail funds management and directorships in funds management companies in many Asian countries. Paul now maintains a portfolio of non-executive directorships, including a responsible entity for two top 100 listed property trusts, a trusteeship of a major public sector superannuation fund and a private equity fund-of-funds, and undertakes a range of consulting assignments.

Perhaps the topic has been overdone or, more probably, climate change, oil price hikes, the credit crunch, the economic slowdown, the savage fall in equity markets and increased volatility have all taken the headlines away from it. The latter phenomena flare more brightly and correct more sharply than slower working forces like demography, but the pendulum will swing back at some time because intergenerational issues remain important.
