James White joined Colonial First State in November 2007. He works in the Investment Markets Research team and is responsible for economic analysis and research into the various asset classes and markets. Previously White worked within the Property and Alternatives Research team as a research analyst.
White works closely with the company's analysts and portfolio managers and assists in the dissemination of economic data and trends throughout the investment teams. He also is involved with investor communication material, writing market thought pieces and investment funds commentaries.
White was an Asia-Pacific economist at both IMA Asia, an advisory business for multi-nationals, and at American Express Australia. He began his career in Scotland as a management consultant for Jura Consultants. He holds a bachelor of economics from the University of Sydney and a masters in economics from the University of Edinburgh.
